Get ready for
pure acoustic bliss!
Clocking in
at over 16 minutes, this song, Arabia,
is one of
my favorite Garcia/Grisman acoustic songs.
It has a definite
eastern feel to the groove and is awesome to play.
If you don't
have this disc, I would highly recommend you get it. It is a must
for any music fan.
Other songs
on the disc include: The Thrill is Gone, Grateful Dawg,
and Friend
of the Devil.
I have included
the scale used for the first set of solos for Garcia and Grisman,
the chords
used and the position they are played on the neck as well as a complete
transcription of the 1st solo of Jerry, note for note.
I have also
included the times for the rhythem and the solo.
These are
designated in red above the tab.
This is the scale that Jerry uses throughout this song, although certain notes maybe sharped or flatted at some points. I suggest just learning this scale proficiently first, before tackling the solo's of Arabia. Plus, once you've got the scale down you can better understand the structure of Jerry's solo's and the notes played.
